Down to the wire...

We have the movers scheduled a week from today (Saturday). We need to check to make sure that we can move our stuff in without the Certificate of Occupancy. This is just one of the many things that are in progress this week. Our poor builder has had it to her ears with the Gas company. She has been calling them several times daily to come hook up the gas line. We can't get the 'C.O.' without our gas line being hooked up. This is our major limiting variable.

Instead of getting into a long story- lemme just sum up this next week in a nice short rap:
Landscaping's not done not even started yet. The yard is graded but there is no grass. The house has electric but we're still waiting for some lights. These are backordered, but we're gonna get it right. Concrete is super expensive so we had to wait. We've got competitive quotes so hopefully it won't be too late. It needs to be poured, brushed and time to dry. It would be nice to have a driveway on which to drive. We're still pricing out outlet covers and floor registers craftsman style. For now though we may have to settle for the ones that are plastic and white. The low voltage guy has been ignoring us. We like the technology but don't want to spend the big bucks. The lattice under the porch needs to be installed still yet. And this week on Monday in goes the carpet. Painting and cleaning are still to be done yet again. While screens for the windows weren't even going to be put in. The yard needs a fence which has yet to be installed. With all this work to do, there won't be a lull.

Ok- maybe I'll stick with my day job. Cross your fingers that all this work will get done!
