We have moved!!! YAY!!! June 27th. The house was completed approximately 7 months after demolition. We are now OPEN FOR BUSINESS (so to speak- give us warning to put the guest sheets on the bed after we go buy a guest bed)

The Cherokee Trail

We had a great meeting last week at the house site. The new architect had some cool, nice and professional drawings for us. Now, with just a couple minor changes we will have full architectural plans. Plus, our builder gave us some champagne for closing on the house.

In the meantime we will be able build the site plan and go ahead with
DEMOLITION!!!

Did I mention that we found out that the house is located on part of the Cherkokee Trail. Yes, that is the trail of tears. I wanted a historic house and I got one... I just hope that we don't get haunted. We will be out there with our metal detectors after the ground is graded. Our neighbors that did the same thing when their houses were built found carriage hooks, arrow heads...

That would be so cool to have artifacts in your china cabinet in your very own dining room. Because you're going to have your very own house!!!

From the photo, it looks like the house will be on a hill. Are you changing the grade of the site much?
