Dry wall, painting, and trim Oh My!

The last two weeks have seen some very good steps towards making the house seem that much closer to move-in date... They finished the dry wall just before Easter and that has now had time to settle so that now we can start working on the trim. We met with Matt and Mark the trim guys this weekend and went over some great ideas. They are going to start doing the interior trim on Monday (tomorrow) and will be done in about 2 weeks. They are PDG (pretty darn good). In the meantime, the hardwood floors have been installed. Our builder is so great that she was able to negotiate the upgrade to the 4" boards at no increase in cost than our budgeted amount for the 3.25" boards. She is "da bomb". All the while this interior stuff is going on- we were finally able to finalize our selection for the exterior paint (something like this). I think at its greatest point- we had about 8 different colors on spots on the house. Our builder is very very patient...The main color has been started along with the trim. It'll be super-cool when the accent is completed.

Now just to work on the electrical fixtures... oie vay!

I love it! It's exactly what I would do if I had the patience to build a house and make every single decision ever involved in such an undertaking (which I totally DO NOT). Love it. It actually looks like a real, honest-to-goodness house now.

And don't worry about the 8 colors of paint. I was painting a 5'x7' bathroom and had three colors on the wall, so 8 for a whole house doesn't sound like much.
