The house is Wrapped and We have Windows!

...I said a hip hop the hippie the hippie
To the hip hip hop, a you don’ stop
the rock it to the bang bang boogie say up jumped the boogie
to the rhythm of the boogie, the beat...

Did I mean that kind of "rap"? They have put the windows in on the house and will do the garage later this week. The house is wrapped and the siding will start to go up soon! It is very exciting. Now, another decision- how many corbels do we want? It's amazing how much they cost and how it all adds up so quickly. Before you know it, we will have to decide what color to paint the exterior of the house.

What is a corbel? Am I supposed to know this?

If they are expensive, I would bet you want a lot of them because they are probably realy nice, like chandeliers or furnaces or something.

Have you ever heard of a "mullion" either??? All this lingo. Apparently a corbel for use in this case, is the same thing as a knee bracket to be used for the roofline. In a broad sense, it is any decorative curly-que thing. A mullion was known to me previously as the grill in the windows. These, by the way, cost $24 a window.

Ahhh, yes, a corbel. I am obviously more used to the French spelling of the word Korbelle, or thing that costs so much but makes us pretty.

I like on Craftsman/Arts-and-Crafts style homes when the beams stick out from under the rooflines to look like they are structural. I bet those are a whole lot more than $24.

And yes, I think some Prairie Style mullions would be nice in the windows. Very Frank Lloyd Wright.
